Graeme Montgomery has a reputation as one of the world’s leading fashion still life photographers and film makers, creating imagery for the leading fashion and luxury brands. He has always tried to stay ahead of the curve being one of the first to embrace photoshop and digital capture and now integrates AI imagery into his work. He is now also finding a much more personal vision exploring his own relationship to the world and experience of it in his current projects.
His current project I Burn For You utilises the image of fire to create an alchemistic ritual of cleansing. Fire is a metaphor for life. Graeme is asking others to join the ritual and bring items to the fire.
The Church of the Santo Diame tries to recreate the visions and feelings of alternative states asking us to explore at what might be accessible beyond our normal daily experiences if only we dare to look.
One Day is a documentary short about prisoner rehabilitation and a better way to re integrate prisoners back into the community. It combines the beauty of the natural food production with the hard reality of life for those who end up in the prison system. It won the Human Rights Award in the This is My Brave Canberra Film Festival 2023
